Holiday Traditions: Strolling Through the Lights

By Rachel S.

One of my favorite things about December is creating little holiday traditions with my pets, even when the military has us far from family. This year, I made it a point to bring my dog along to see the Christmas lights. Honestly, it was magical. Twinkling displays, crisp winter air, and the excitement in my dog’s eyes made it feel like the holidays had officially begun. He loves looking at Christmas lights.

Winter weather isn’t always kind, though. Snow, rain, and icy sidewalks can make a long walk tricky, or just downright impossible. That’s why I’m loving our pet stroller this season. My buddy can cozy up inside, still take in all the lights and sounds, and I don’t have to worry about cold cracked paws or tired legs. Bonus: it’s an adorable way to stroll around and snap some festive photos for memory books or socials.

The best part is this month Military Pet Club members can enter in for a chance to win a pet stroller! I can’t think of a better way to make a holiday outing like this even more fun. Imagine cruising past sparkling displays with your pet snug and comfy…it’s a little slice of seasonal magic you can share together.

Pack a blanket, maybe a treat or two, and enjoy a cozy stroll with your furry best friend. Even a short walk through the lights feels like a full holiday adventure. And if your pet isn’t a fan of the cold, swap the outdoor stroll for an indoor winter enrichment activity, like a festive ball pit they can dive into. This season, I’m making sure my pet is part of every tradition, one twinkle-lit stroll at a time no matter where we are at.
